Siram (En. Delicious) This blog is now a collaborative work between Genevieve Marie D. Monreal and Kimberly C. Realoza, two Ateneo de Manila University alumnae food lovers and natives of the Bicol Region (particularly Daraga, Albay.) This was originally a senior creative project concentrating on the Bicol food dishes that consists of the triumvirate of sili, pili and gata turned into a more general Bicol food blog. It is in our highest hopes that we get to discover more of the wonderful food our region has to offer, and in the future, expand to the rest of the country and at the same time, impart a little of bit of what we love to you and hope that you leave this blog interested in the food that Bicol has to offer. Monreal is an Interdisciplinary Studies (Communication and Psychology Track) Batch 2011 graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University. She was also the Vice-President of OSCI-Volunteers (ROOTS) 2010-2011. She is currently studying Fundamentals of Pastry Arts at International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management. Her interests are food, photography, baking, history and art. She bakes, swims, goes to the gym and does yoga during her free time. The Food Writer Kimberly C. Realoza is an Interdisciplinary Studies (English Literature and Creative Writing track) Batch 2010 graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University. That sweet, almost with a bitter aftertaste drink combined with a hefty serving of ice did not latch onto her brain like it did with me the first time I tasted it eons ago.</p> <p>I tried not to be disheartened over the seemingly deteriorating quality of my favorite restaurant and produced a variety of reasons as to why it fell from the pedestal I have always placed it on. As my reasons began to stray farther and farther from the realm of possible, Gen cleansed her palate with a serving of mashed potatoes with pint-sized bacon bits on top. That she couldn’t deny was very tasty. (Posting more about this potato cupcakes of satisfaction later.) Then she, possibly begrudgingly and out of pity, admitted that the drink had gotten better as it laid waiting to be drank.
